Spain's "Person of the Year" to Afghanistan

That's right, His Majesty King Juan Carlos is in Afghanistan supporting the Spanish forces for their service. He ends 2007 on a very high note, after this year has been one in which his popularity has increased, particularly following the now-famous "Por que no te callas?" incident in Chile this past November.

For all those who see the King as a medieval tool of oppression which he continues to perpetuate as Spain "still represses Latin America," I suggest you revise your Spanish --and world-- history, and see that that's hardly the case. I am hardly a monarchist, but when someone does something worthy of praise, I will praise it.

To His Majesty, Spain's "Person of the Year": thank you for this. I am sure your troops appreciate it, especially having to deal with the capricious decisions of the badulaque desgraciado que encabeza el desgobierno. And, thank you for yet again telling some of the most baseless critics, by way of this gesture, por que no te callas?

Snarky comment: I can't help but think how much it must annoy Chavez that he is not "Person of the Year." The little things that make this colombo-americana smile are often silly, but always appreciated.
