NO MAS FARC - Information for Venezuela

According to the organization's website, there are two marches --one in Maracaibo and one in Caracas-- planned in Venezuela for 4 February, rejecting the FARC terrorists. My dear friend Buensancho has been in contact with the coordinators, and promises to provide additional information on the details for the Caracas march as soon as he has it. If you read Spanish, go see what he has to say regarding the concentration in Maracaibo.

For the non-Spanish speakers I am taking the liberty to translate the most pertinent details of his entry. I would sincerely ask all those who have contact in Venezuela to pass this information along as soon as possible. I am not sure what the logistics will be, since surely the desgobierno will be planning something to celebrate the failed military coup against a democratically elected government which el macacon himself led on 4 February 1992, and twist it as an act of patriotism, blah blah blah... As Buensancho says, he hopes to have more concrete information regarding Caracas this evening.

For Maracaibo:
Contact: Juan Carlos Millan
e-mail: nomasfarcmaracaibo@gmail.com
Meeting Point: Vereda del Lago, in front of Rafael Urdaneta University; from here, the march will head to the Plaza de la Republica.
Time: noon

They are seeking water for those who participate, since Maracaibo can be very hot, especially at 12pm, as well as sound equipment for the final arrival point. Any help that can be offered, or ideas that you might have, please contact Juan Carlos Millan for more information.

For Caracas:
Contact: Milagros Ramirez
e-mail: nomasfarccaracas@gmail.com
The logistics of procuring the permit as well as planning the route of the march are still in the process of being worked out. As soon as there is more information available, it will be published.

Reiterating what my dear friend reminds us, for those interested in the marches in locations all around the world, please check the website www.colombiasoyyo.org/puntos.html On this page, there will be contact information for those organizing the march. If your city isn't listed and you would like to plan something, shoot an e-mail to nomasfarc@colombiasoyyo.org
For those planning to attend in your respective cities, the organizing committee is asking for the participants to wear a white shirt, and if you're terribly creative, go to http://www.colombiasoyyo.org/publicidad.html and download an iron-on transfer and put it on your shirt. Don't forget to bring a Colombian flag! I support Buensancho's asseveration in saying, bring your country's flag too; people should know that countries all over the world condemn the FARC terrorists.

Once again, please pass this information along; if you don't have friends in Venezuela, pass the site to others, as there is a good chance that there will be something taking place in your country!

My most sincere thanks to all.
